Baby Registry Checklist
Picture
After years of new babies, back to back, I made this registry checklist that I think are the items really needed for newborns.

Favorite Newborn and baby products we use

There are so many things needed for a new baby, it can be and often is overwhelming for moms. I am obsessed with high quality, safe and healthy items for newborns. We researched, studied, changed it up a million times and here are the best brands and must haves for new babies. Here are the baby registry items I think are the best and recommend:

Singleton Cosleeper Link
The dimensions are very important. This one is made for one baby and is 36"L x 22"W x 32.7"H.
Twins Cosleeper Link
A bedside cosleeper, like these truly saved our sleep for the first six months of our newborn twins' life. It was perfect to have the babies so close for feedings. They slept so well and then when they regressed around five or six months, we moved them into their own cribs in their own room. It worked out really well after learning the hard way, the first time around. (There is no tired like first time mom, newborn twins, tired!) This one that is made for two babies has the dimensions: 36"L x 39"W x 5"H. I think the height is adjustable and it comes in pink, too.
Changing Pad Cover Link

These are comfy, high quality and come in 17 different patterns! Get at least two of these because you'll be changing them often.
Changing Pad Disposables Link
These disposable pads can be helpful to not have to change them out so often and are great for traveling, too!
Sheets Link
These are the best quality and softest baby sheets! You can probably guess- one of my favorite brands!
Toddler Quilt Link
These are so soft and amazing! My kids love them.

I love this picture of the littles in their matching guitar swaddles. These were so great for the first months and even had Velcro to make swaddling easy for the double duty! We brought ours to the hospital each time and the nurses loved them. They’re also such great quality, they lasted through all three sets of twins!
Swaddles Link
These swaddles are so perfect for new parents, they are for 0-3 months and take the tricky part out of swaddling! Just tuck them in and velcro them up! Safe and snug. These come in many different colors.
Sleep sack with Swaddle option
Adjustable sleep sack for the in-between time, 3-6 months
Sleep Sacks Link
Arms free but still no blankets yet, 6-12 months.

This is one of my favorite brands and my all time favorite sleep sack. They are high quality with sturdy zippers, comfy, thick and warm and our babies love them. They even signal the bedtime routine and comfort them! These have lasted so long without breaking or wearing out. Here is one of my favorite pictures of the littles wearing this kind!

These sleep sacks are (literally) baby life savers and can be used all the way to one year and older. They keep baby safe with no blankets but cozy and warm and zippered up! This is another great gift idea.
Clothing is something I would not recommend getting a lot of before baby arrives because so many people love to get cute baby clothing for you and your baby as gifts. The basic footie pajamas with a zipper (SO much faster!!) is all I would even add to the registry as far as clothes goes. Swaddles with velcro and sleep sacks are a must for safety and make life so much easier for any middle of the night changes or re-swaddling. Here is some important information about baby safety and sleep from the American Academy of Pediatricians for SIDS prevention.
  • BACK IS BEST
  • ABC-Alone (no stuffies/blankets/toys/), Back, Crib (flat surfaces only) until one year.
  • Pacifiers help, so does breastfeeding
  • Sleep in the same room as newborns until 6 months (the sound of your breath helps them regulate their breathing), Bedside cosleepers were the perfect option for us because they are flat on their backs in their own space but still right next to you. Best of both worlds.
Here is an excerpt from the American Academy of Pediatricians post, Safe Sleep:
"Pediatricians should support all families in implementing recommendations that reduce the risk of sleep-related infant death:
  • Place infants on their backs for sleep in their own sleep space with no other people.
  • Use a crib, bassinet, or portable play yard with a firm, flat mattress and a fitted sheet. Avoid sleep on a couch or armchair or in a seating device, like a swing or car safety seat (except while riding in the car).
  • Keep loose blankets, pillows, stuffed toys, bumpers, and other soft items out of the sleep space."

Simple Monitor Link
A more simple kind that works, great.

Another soft and cute baby blankets! These come in so many patterns in colors so there can be a pattern for each baby!
Pacifiers Link
Love these pacifiers! They even have a little hole for the clips (below).
Pacifier Clips Link
And these pacifier clips are a lifesaver!
