Happy Halloween! “The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.” -Peter Pan The cast of peter panAs I write this post, a baby is asleep on my shoulder and I’m cherishing being able to savor this moment of my baby sleeping in my arms. This year, we decided what to be all the way back in the summer. My oldest daughter had the idea of Peter Pan and each person picked their own characters. I loved how my middle son refused to be the crocodile and insisted he would be “the silly guy, Smee”. The babies had the cutest reaction and they were great sports about being dressed up. They loved the entertainment and excitement of the night. They even joined in the trick or treating fun. Decorations and party time! The party at a friend’s house and trick or treating decorations were incredible! We couldn’t believe the pirate ship, wherewolf and creepy doll! (Check them all out on the slideshow/video, here! They went all out!! Pirate house surpriseSee our shock and surprise (caught on video) as we trick or treat at the pirate house! OMG Arrr… (minute 4 of the slide show) Pot roast and sorting the goodsWe loved having pot roast with family and the kids loved their candy dessert! The babies even showed the big kids what candy they got! Make sure you don’t miss that in the slideshow! Thank you so much to all the friends and loved ones who went all out to make this such a special night. We will cherish the memory of the night which is summed up in this 6 minute slideshow/video. Our slideshow from the big night! It was fun and we were exhausted by the end of it! Subscribers get all access to the FAQ’s and comments from strangers plus, emails when we post! Decorating with the Kids
We love to getting our tub of halloween decorations out and let the kids decide (for the most part) where to put everything! Their favorite decorations are the ones they can play with. Here's a little video we made to show how we decorated this year.
A few years ago, we got these adorable velvet pumpkins which are still holding up great. The artwork next to it was made by Adam's talented aunt. Thank you again for the beautiful art, Auntie Deb!
We hope it's not too spooky to have so many skeletons! I saw a family with two young children on a walk after putting this creepy one coming out of the ground. They were talking about our skeleton and said, "We love checking on him on our walks." So I decided we would change up his position every once in a while for the people who like seeing how he's doing. I live in a very Halloween obsessed place... haha!
There seems to always be a decoration trend of the year (at least in my neighborhood). Last year it was these cute bats, which some people have again this year.
Giant spiders and spiderwebs like this one seem to be a trend this year, too!
The biggest trend this year has to be witches and witches hats, especially hanging them! I'm sure somewhat because the movie Hocus Pocus 2 came out this year. We loved the movie and it wasn't too scary for our kiddos. Our favorite part was definitely when they rode on the robot vacuums which we are actually highly dependent on in our home. See our favorite robot vacuum and more of our must haves, here.
I know this is a huge surprise to some but kids make the floor really messy... luckily technology (this robot vacuum) is helping us out with that. Here are some of our other must haves to surviving three sets of twins in just five years.

Halloween has always been one of my favorite kid holidays! From the pumpkin patch to the costumes, see how we halloween with two sets of twins! We’re still dressing up and parading but halloween will, just like everything, look a little different this year.
Halloween Traditions
The bigs pumpkin carving on their second Halloween.
Halloween Parade
This year, I plan to try to make our night as similar to what we do traditionally while keeping our bubble (our family, plus the four grandparents), safe. We will dress up, walk through the neighborhood, like a parade. If people leave bowls of candy at the end of the driveway, we will take one piece each but if not, we’ll just walk. I’m planning to leave a bowl at the end of our driveway and bring some candy in our stroller, just in case.
Halloween Decororations
Velvet Pumpkin and Aunt Deb’s (Adam’s Aunt) Halloween artwork.
Halloween and fall have the CUTEST decorations. I can’t get enough of the colors and warm, spicy feelings that come with the new season. These little velvet pumpkins are adorable and definitely a halloween trend this year.
These adorable velvet pumpkins are my favorite new decoration!

One of my favorite ways to get into the holiday spirit is by bringing out our Halloween and Fall books. I store the books away in the winter through the summer which makes it extra special when we take them back out. We like to try new books, too! Do you have any favorite Halloween book recommendations for us? Please let me know in the comments, below.
Here are some of my favorite Halloween books (click the pics below to order online!):
One of my favorite Halloween books is The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin. It is a story about a very special pumpkin who saves the day by being unique and not judging a book by its cover.
This book, Little Blue Truck's Halloween is from the Little Blue Truck series. I love the illustrations and the lift the flaps are sturdy enough for toddlers!
Pumpkin Soup has a lot of heart! When one of the friends from the old white cabin feels sad and leaves, the others realize they should have been nicer. They are best buds who learn to take turns and work together in this adorable book with beautiful illustrations.
I love Ten Timid Ghosts because it is a countdown book that brings numbers and number identification to storytime! The kids love the spooky story and pictures!
We love Pete the Cat, Trick or Pete from the series, Pete the Cat. There is also a Pete the Cat show on Amazon Prime that has fun, blues music. Our frogs croak when they hear the theme song. If you aren't already a Prime Member, I highly recommend Amazon Prime for many reasons including free Amazon shipping, Subscribe and Save, and Amazon Prime Shows and Movies which have great options for kids.
