We were superheroes! We had a SUPER fun time dressing up as our favorite super heroes! I hope you like the video! If you do, please drop this emoji:🦸🏻♀️ in the comments and I would love to hear who YOUR favorite superhero is. It was hard to decide which baby should be batman and who should be superman! July was fun but i’m exhaustedWe have had such an amazing summer so far! From the start we’ve been going full on with more kidventures, outings, projects on our house and taking on some extra hours of work plus I’ve been on a decluttering kick for a few months not to mention… the taking care of 6 littles full time. I think I need a vacation from my summer vacation. Lol, I’m only kidding! I’m so grateful for the time with the kids and all we have been able to do. It’s been almost too much fun! With the littles getting older and more up for outings with us, we have been making up for lost time. We even went to our first restaurant since the babies were born two years ago. (I shouldn’t be calling them that still but I think I may forever… sorry boys!). The restaurant was family friendly and oh so fun so I will post about that soon on Instagram: @halfadozentwins. Leo did his signature pouty shy face and we of course got some comments from strangers. You can read more of those by clicking the button below. Swimming lessonsWe have been lucky enough to take swim lessons this summer and the kids have loved it. Out and aboutThe most memorable part of the summer has definitely been going to the yurt, boat rides, the beach twice, the Tillamook cheese factory, the zoo and the concerts. It’s hard to keep up with the posts with all of the fun but there are only a few more weeks left of this before four of them go to school! We’re soaking in the fun, family time and sunshine that will soon turn back to six months of rain. We love the rainy time too it’s just very different than the free summer that is coming to an end soon. To see more videos and see where we went click on the Kidventure section below. Looking Ahead to fallSome people in the house are already looking forward to their favorite season, Fall. With the crisp cool air, football traditions and back to school around the corner, it’s already time to start planning! My mom always said, “failing to plan is planning to fail!” And that’s especially true when you have a family with three sets of young twins. They’re already picking out their backpacks and I’m still getting used to the idea that the mids are starting Kindergarten! Follow along by joining the email list for free! The third setI couldn’t help but take some pics of the boys in their bunny rompers! I love how these turned out. They’re so busy but I was able to get a few photos of them before they ran off! Lol Both smiling! Both looking! He already loves books! Looking so much like his oldest brother when he was this age. They love handing people, especially each other things! When one of them cries or is getting a diaper change, the other one brings over a toy to cheer them up. It’s the sweetest. So kind to his twin, already.
So… my robe(s)A couple of people have mentioned my robes recently so I’m going to be real with the subscribers (people who are on the email list)!😂 I’m so excited to share our recent kidventure with you soon! I just have to do some editing but the kids and Adam and I had a blast! Ai Help with the ChoresIf you read the article in the US Sun, you may have wondered…what is AI? (Not a, elle, by the way). It stands for Artificial Intelligence and I’m not sure robot vacuums technically count. It sure got a lot of people interested and talking about automatic chore helpers. Here is how we get by with the chores: Faq: Do your kids help with chores?Minimally! Haha the oldest just turned 7! The long post can be found in my FAQ’s by clicking, here.

How we reacted to “It’s Twins!” for the first set! My first words, his silence and what I knew we needed! It was love at first sight.
Happy Halloween! “The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.” -Peter Pan The cast of peter panAs I write this post, a baby is asleep on my shoulder and I’m cherishing being able to savor this moment of my baby sleeping in my arms. This year, we decided what to be all the way back in the summer. My oldest daughter had the idea of Peter Pan and each person picked their own characters. I loved how my middle son refused to be the crocodile and insisted he would be “the silly guy, Smee”. The babies had the cutest reaction and they were great sports about being dressed up. They loved the entertainment and excitement of the night. They even joined in the trick or treating fun. Decorations and party time! The party at a friend’s house and trick or treating decorations were incredible! We couldn’t believe the pirate ship, wherewolf and creepy doll! (Check them all out on the slideshow/video, here! They went all out!! Pirate house surpriseSee our shock and surprise (caught on video) as we trick or treat at the pirate house! OMG Arrr… (minute 4 of the slide show) Pot roast and sorting the goodsWe loved having pot roast with family and the kids loved their candy dessert! The babies even showed the big kids what candy they got! Make sure you don’t miss that in the slideshow! Thank you so much to all the friends and loved ones who went all out to make this such a special night. We will cherish the memory of the night which is summed up in this 6 minute slideshow/video. Our slideshow from the big night! It was fun and we were exhausted by the end of it! Subscribers get all access to the FAQ’s and comments from strangers plus, emails when we post! Pumpkins, Donuts, Cider & MoreWe had so much fun on our visit to the Pumpkin Patch this year! It was a beautiful day and we were able to do everything on our list! We came after eating lunch at home and it worked perfectly for everyone's schedules. I guess one baby fell asleep at the end but that's ok. Farm AnimalsWe started with the farm animals and there were so many this year! We saw goats, pigs (giant hogs and tiny piglets, turkeys and even pet two ponies! Nut House and PLaygroundNext up was play time! They ran into the Hazelnut "Nut House" which is just a room with about a million hazelnuts to run around in. They love this part even though the entry is a little spooky and our middle daughter was a little hesitant at first. I went in with her to show her it was fun. Next up was the big slide and the boat which weren't crowded since it was right at lunch time. Another perk of eating an early lunch before coming. PUMPKIN PICKING TIMEAfter the kids played their hearts out, we went to the fields so each kiddo could pick their very own pumpkin. It was kind of funny watching them... one of the four year olds couldn't pull one off a vine and gave up. They all wanted their pumpkins to be unique which was cool. Some picked tall, others picked cinderellas and we ended up with a nice variety of unique and beautiful pumpkins! jumping housesThey had six or so jumping houses (not my favorite part because they were crowded) so we made a pitstop on our way to the donuts and cider. TricyclesWhile I waited in a little line for the donuts and cider, the big kids rode the tricycles around- so fun! Donuts and ciderThese are just the best donuts you'll ever eat! They make them fresh and they're still warm. We sat down and indulged under the shade of some pretty apple trees and then headed home. It was a simple, fun and delicious time. Pumpkin Patch Day is one of my favorite days of the year! We love to getting our tub of halloween decorations out and let the kids decide (for the most part) where to put everything! Their favorite decorations are the ones they can play with. Here's a little video we made to show how we decorated this year.
A few years ago, we got these adorable velvet pumpkins which are still holding up great. The artwork next to it was made by Adam's talented aunt. Thank you again for the beautiful art, Auntie Deb!
We hope it's not too spooky to have so many skeletons! I saw a family with two young children on a walk after putting this creepy one coming out of the ground. They were talking about our skeleton and said, "We love checking on him on our walks." So I decided we would change up his position every once in a while for the people who like seeing how he's doing. I live in a very Halloween obsessed place... haha!
There seems to always be a decoration trend of the year (at least in my neighborhood). Last year it was these cute bats, which some people have again this year.
Giant spiders and spiderwebs like this one seem to be a trend this year, too!
The biggest trend this year has to be witches and witches hats, especially hanging them! I'm sure somewhat because the movie Hocus Pocus 2 came out this year. We loved the movie and it wasn't too scary for our kiddos. Our favorite part was definitely when they rode on the robot vacuums which we are actually highly dependent on in our home. See our favorite robot vacuum and more of our must haves, here.
I know this is a huge surprise to some but kids make the floor really messy... luckily technology (this robot vacuum) is helping us out with that. Here are some of our other must haves to surviving three sets of twins in just five years.

Our first Halloween as a family of eight was so fun. I remember being exhausted getting everyones costumes on! I have a little trick that I've done for years... we have a dress rehearsal day where everyone makes sure their costumes fit and we get a great picture to post on Halloween. Then on the special day, we can just enjoy the moment knowing we have a photo ready to go. From carefree newlyweds… to a family of eight. Here are the Videos from our trip to the beach! Before it gets too late and too cold, we had to squeeze another beach trip in! It's one of the most fun places we take the kids. In the video, watch the babies in action- crawling in the the water and the bigs and mids running around in the surf. They ran down sand dunes but no, we didn't build the huge sand castle, we found it. We brought a picnic (see picnic video from last week), snacks and ended up going to a restaurant for dinner. Luckily, they had two high chairs and were very family friendly. We've only gone to a restaurant as a family of eight a few times so far and we're getting better each time! It's so funny how quiet and sweet the kids are. I think when people see us coming they fear the worst but luckily our kids are really chill and just like to enjoy a meal out! The babies did get a little tired at the beach since we were there for so many hours. That is why they were a little cranky about sharing the toy... it was so cute when one baby accidentally gave his twin the toy and then cried in regret, right after. I didn't even mean to catch it while I was taking a video, but it's adorable. Watch that one, here: short video of just the babies. The day was truly like a dream. For our family, getting out and about isn't easy as I'm sure most can imagine. In a way it almost makes getting to places like these and days like these even more special. Seeing our kids enjoy nature and such a perfect day made me want to make a video of our experience. I felt when I was there that feeling you get sometimes that you want to hold this memory forever. I told my husband, Adam as we watched them run around in the water, this is what I want to look back on when we're old and gray. Life is so beautiful and moments like these are so precious. I hope you like the video of our very special day trip to Cannon Beach. Check out all of our videos and don't forget to subscribe to our brand new |
